One of the most special factors at the beginning of the 2023 season is that Riot has officially taken over and re-released League of Legends on two servers that originally belonged to Garena – VCS and PCS.

Recently, Riot announced the first official TFT tournament of season 8 for the APAC (Asia-Pacific) region.

Below is information about TFT Esports Season 8 in the Asia-Pacific region.

[SEA Round]

There are 5 different servers operating Truth Arena and there are 2 participation directions for SEA players: Vietnam / 4 Other Regions (SG/ID/MY, TH, PH, MW/MO/HK)

[Vietnam Region]

Vietnam Open Qualifier #1 (February 4 ~ February 5)

– Number: 256 players

– Competition Format

+ Day 1: players will be divided into groups of 8 people and each group will compete in 5 rounds.

+ Day 2: players will divide into groups of 8 and each group competes in 5 rounds.

– Top 10 players will advance to SEA Regional Cup #1

Vietnam Open Qualifier #2 (February 11 ~ February 12)

– Number: 256 players (For all players who failed in Open Qualifier #1 and players on the waiting list)

– Competition Format:

+ Day 2: players will divide into groups of 8 and each group competes in 5 rounds.

Top 10 players will advance to SEA Regional Cup #1

SEA Regional Cup #1 (February 17 ~ February 19)

– Number: 32 players

+ Day 1: players will be divided into groups of 8 and each group will compete in 6 rounds.

+ Day 2: players will be divided into groups of 8 people and each group will compete in 6 rounds.

+ Day 3: Checkmate Format – players will compete until the first player reaches 18 points, thereby winning the number 1 position in the round and becoming the SEA Champion

– Total Prize of 10,000 USD + 6 Asian Cup Participation

[Areas SG/ID/MY, TH, PH, MW/MO/HK]

+ 8 players from the Open Qualifier

+ 8 Invited players

+ Day 1: Group Round – players will be divided into groups of 8 and each group will compete in 3 rounds.

+ Day 2: Losers Bracket Final – players will compete in 3 rounds per group.

+ Day 3: Grand Final – players will compete in 5 rounds per group.

– Total Prize: HKD 10,000 + Selected Regional Open Qualifier

TFT The Chosen One – Regional Open Qualifier (February 11 ~ February 12)

+ 3 players from Central Server

+ 2 players from TFT Chosen – Central & Hong Kong Tournament

+ 3 players from Streamers Battle AfreecaTV – TW & HK

+ 3 players from the TW Server Rankings

+ 8 players from PH Server (Screenshot of Ranking + Influencer Position)

+ 8 players from Server SG/MY/ID (Screenshot of Ranking + Influencer Position)

+ Day 1: players will be divided into groups of 8 and each group will compete in 6 rounds.

Lux Open Qualifier (February 2 ~ February 5)

– Number: ~256 players

+ Days 1~2: players will be divided into groups of 8 and each group will compete in 6 rounds.

+ Day 3: players will be divided into groups of 8 and each group will compete in 4 rounds.

– Total Prize: 3,000 AUD + 4 Participation in the Magician’s Cup

Annie Open Qualifier (February 9 ~ February 12)

Magicians Cup (February 18 ~ February 19)

– Number: 12 players

+ Top 4 from Lux Open Qualifier

+ Top 4 from Annie Open Qualifier

+ Top 4 from Snapshot Ranking

+ Day 1: players will be divided into groups of 6 people and each group will compete in 6 rounds.

+ Day 2: players from each group will compete in 6 rounds.

Total Prize: 10,000 AUD + 3 Asian Cup Participation

[Korean Round]

AfreecaTV Truth Arena Tournament (ATS) (February 18 ~ February 19)

+ Top 8 from Open Qualifiers (Seed players)

+ Top 8 from Open Qualifier (Seed Influencer)

+ Day 1: players will be divided into 2 groups of 8 people and each group will compete in 6 rounds.

+ Day 2: Checkmate Format – players will compete until the first player reaches 18 points, thereby taking 1st place in the round and becoming the ATS Champion.

– Total Prize: 10,000,000 KRW + 6 Asian Cup Participation

[Asian Cup] – March 3 ~ March 5

– Number: 24 players

+ 6 players from China, Korea and Southeast Asia

+ 3 players from Japan and Oceania

+ Day 1: players will be divided into 2 groups of 8 people and each group will compete in 6 rounds.

+ Day 2: players will be divided into 2 groups of 8 people and each group will compete in 6 rounds.

+ Day 3: Checkmate Format – players will compete until the first player reaches 18 points, thereby taking 1st place in the round and becoming the ATS Champion.

Total Prize: 20,000 USD + (Regional Finals seeding for Top 2 in KR / JP / OCE region).

When entering a high-level arena for the first time, Vietnamese players will encounter many difficulties.
